Short Season for Rookie Williams

Dallas Cowboys rookie linebacker Brandon Williams is out for the season.

The Star-Telegram reports, Williams tore his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in his left knee during Friday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Williams attended Texas Tech and Fort Worth South Hills High School.

The Star-Telegram also reports Williams will need surgery and will spend the season on injured reserve.

He is the second rookie to suffer an injury before the start of the regular Cowboys season.

Offensive tackle Robert Brewster tore his pectoral muscle before training camp.
