Shocker: Murray Named NFC Offensive Player of the Month

DeMarco Murray has been the biggest reason, with the help of the Dallas Cowboys' young offensive line, for the Cowboys' resurgence through four games this season, and on Thursday he was rewarded for his opening month when he received NFC Offensive Player of the Month honors for September.

Murray is the runaway leader in just about every rushing category in the NFL, leading the league in carries (99) and yards (534), which is 156 yards better than his closest competition, Pittsburgh back Le'Veon Bell. Murray also has five rushing touchdowns in the Cowboys' four games.

Do the math, and you'll see Murray is on pace to rush for 2,136 yards and 20 touchdowns, and he hasn't even had a monster game yet with a big 200-yard outlier. When that happens β€” it will β€” then you'll really have to start looking at the projections and put on a record watch.

The big question for Murray, obviously, is his health as he's yet to play a full season. But if he can stay healthy, look out.
