Shaun Rogers Visiting Washington

Released by the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, there’s been a good bit of intrigue around Dallas as to whether nose tackle Shaun Rogers could be a fit in Dallas, particularly due to the presence of new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, who held that position for the past two seasons in Cleveland.

But today, Rogers is visiting a rival of the Cowboys, the Washington Redskins, one of ten teams reportedly on the nose tackle’s list.

We’d imagine that the Cowboys are also on that list, particularly because of Rogers’ familiarity with Ryan’s system, but whether Dallas will pursue him is still debatable; Ryan (and many others) are on record as being enamored of the big man’s talent, but age (31), health and, according to some, work ethic stick out as question marks.

Aside from that, if Dallas were to land Rogers, they’d likely move All-Pro nose tackle Jay Ratliff to end, and there’s been no indication from Dallas that they’re entertaining the possibility.

To date, it’s not known whether Rogers is scheduled to meet with Dallas.
