Sean Lee Sits Down With Dat Nguyen

Lee and Nguyen got a chance to speak at Cowboys Camp on Wednesday

Dat Nguyen is back at Cowboys Training Camp, but this time, he’s not there as a player or a coach. The former linebacker is now a radio host on ESPN Radio 1250-AM in San Antonio, a gig he’s had for a little over a year. On Wednesday, he had a chance to sit down with middle linebacker Sean Lee, and Lee was all too eager to learn all he could.

You’re talking scheme and technique and everything," Lee said, per ESPN Dallas. "You can to try to pick his brain to see what made him successful.”

Nguyen came away from the tete-a-tete impressed by the fourth-year linebacker--or more accurately, more impressed than he was already. It is worth remembering that Lee looked to be on his way to his first career Pro Bowl before suffering a season-ending ligament injury in his big toe in Week 6.

“He’s a coach on the field,” said Nguyen. “That’s exactly what you want. He’s like a coach’s dream.

“Man, this dude is smart. He wants to be good. He’s willing to listen. He’s one of those hard workers that wants to be good, and the game is important to him. You don’t find too many guys like that anymore. The game is important to him and he wants to be better at it, and he’s working.

“He’s exciting to watch. I watched that kid out there. He’s all over the field all the time. He doesn’t take a lot of bad steps and he doesn’t put himself in bad situations.”
