Sean Lee: Cowboys Have “Taken a Step Back” in 2015

The Cowboys are 4-9 going into a Week 15 matchup with the New York Jets

Fourteen weeks into perhaps the most disappointing season in recent memory, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee isn't in the mood to look at things through rose-colored glasses.

In discussing the potential importance of these final three games this week, of trying to finish the season on a high note, Lee gave a brutally honest assessment of the season that's been.

"I think it absolutely carries forward," Lee said, per the Dallas Morning News. "The way you play, getting better, building toward something. Obviously, we've taken a step back from where we were last year. But, I still believe, and we still believe, we can be a good football team at some point. The sooner we do that, the better we'll be."

Lee certainly isn't about to blame injuries for all the Cowboys' woes.

"You can't use that as an excuse," Lee said. "You have to find a way to win ballgames. A lot of teams have injuries. We haven't gotten it done in critical moments. But we still have an opportunity and we still have to try to take advantage of it."
