Rough Start For Romo, Daly at Pebble Beach

The pairing of John Daly and Dallas Cowboysquarterback Tony Romo had a rough go of things in the opening round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Thursday, shooting a five-under--which places them in a tie for 43rd moving into the second round on Friday at Monterey Peninsula Country Club.

Whether it affected their effort or not, ESPN Dallas reports that the crowd--comprised greatly of San Francisco 49ers fans--heckled Romo, a scratch golfer, throughout the round on Thursday. Whether Romo replied, “Yeah, well, your quarterback is Alex Smith” we don’t know; but he should have.

Meanwhile, Romo and Daly are seven strokes behind the leaders, Bryce Molder and EMC chairman Harry You, who shot a 12-under on Thursday, one stroke better than the team of D.A. Points and Bill Murray.
