Rookie LB Holloman Making an Impact

DeVonte Holloman has two interceptions thus far this preseason

Dallas Cowboys’ rookie linebacker DeVonte Holloman has two interceptions this preseason, and his nose for the ball has earned him a nickname from his teammates.

Hands Holloman,” veteran safety Will Allen said, per the Dallas Morning News. “He’s going to be a good player for us.”

Taken in the sixth round of the 2013 Draft out of the University of South Carolina, Holloman’s two picks have both been impressive, but for completely different reasons: The first, in the Hall of Fame Game against the Dolphins, turned into a pick-six. The second, a diving grab against Arizona on Saturday, came on the Cowboys’ two-yard line, preventing a scoring chance for the Cardinals.

“That was a great play, I mean a great play, he made on that ball,” Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said. “Not only an athletic play but a timely play.”
