Romo a Favorite at American Century Championship

For this first time in over a decade, Major League pitcher turned professional golfer Rick Rhoden is not the lone favorite at the American Century championship, a celebrity invitational golf tournament held annually in Lake Tahoe--for next month’s edition of the tourney, he is sharing that title with Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo.

Romo and Rhoden have been listed by Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe as co-favorites, at 5-2 each.

Former NFL quarterback and Texas Tech Red Raider Billy Joe Tolliver is next at 4-1, despite having won the tourney three times, including last year. Michael Jordan comes in at 30-1.

Charles Barkley and Kevin Nealon are each, somewhat understandably listed at 500-1.

In four starts at the Edgewood-Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Romo has finished alone in second once and has shared second place twice. The tournament will run from July 15-17.
