Romo Won't Do Much During Bye Week

Tony Romo is dealing with a couple of small fractures in his back

After taking a couple of shots in the 31-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last week and enduring the transatlantic flight home from London, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is feeling good as the team embarks on their bye week, head coach Jason Garrett told reporters.

"He came out of the game fairly clean and didn't seem to have any issues on the flight coming back," Garrett said, per Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPN Dallas. "He is in good shape.

Romo suffered two small fractures in his back in the Monday night loss to the Washington Redskins two weeks ago and was held out of the Week 9 loss to the Cardinals. He returned against the Jaguars, though many in the press thought he shouldn’t have, and threw for three first half touchdowns. He was pulled midway through the fourth quarter.

Garrett said Romo will do little if anything in the two practices scheduled for this week.

"There are probably a handful of guys on our team who have been dealing with stuff that won't do a lot," Garrett said. "The practices will be short. We'll only be out on the field for an hour. So for the most part some of the guys who have been banged up or are dealing with some things, will get the blood flowing a little bit but won't do a whole lot of football."
