Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain had his right knee examined by Dr. James Andrews recently, according to Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News, but he emerged with some good news.
McClain will not need surgery on the knee this offseason.
After middle linebacker Sean Lee suffered a torn ACL on the first day of training camp, the Cowboys acquired McClain--who had retired and sat out the entire 2013 season--in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens.
At times in 2014, McClain looked like the best player on the Dallas defense but he missed three games due to various injuries, including the aforementioned troublesome knee. He finished with 81 tackles, a sack and two interceptions.
