You might remember when, back in August, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan took a shot at the Eagles, calling them the “All-Hype Team” and suggesting that the Cowboys would “beat their [expletives] when they meet.”
Well, the time is nigh, and the Cowboys defense--and Ryan himself--are preparing to, hopefully, back up that bit of bulletin board material on the field on Sunday night.
"We were like, 'Rob, what the hell are you doing? You can't come in here and do that. At least give us a heads up,'" linebacker Bradie James recalled recently, per the Dallas Morning News. "I talked to Rob today. I was like, 'Hey Rob, we've got your back. We've got to go ball. I know you're going to be here all night long from the statement made in camp.'"
This, according to James, was Ryan’s response: "Yeah, shoot yeah. I'll be drinking Red Bulls all night."
For all his bravado, Ryan has backed it up to this point, guiding the Dallas defense to the no. 1 rank in football in terms of stopping the run; they’re currently seventh in total defense.
