Rob Ryan Calls LeSean McCoy “The Best Back In Football”

Ryan's defense will do battle with McCoy and the Eagles this Sunday

Going into the first meeting between the Cowboys and the Eagles last season, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan suggested that his team would expose their rivals to the Northeast as “The All-Hype Team.” This year, perhaps because the Cowboys got swept by the Eagles last year, Ryan is singing the praises of the Philly offense, running back LeSean McCoy in particular.

Like Dallas, the Eagles are 3-5, but according to Ryan, they have the best running back in the NFL in their backfield.

To me that’s the best back in football,” Ryan said, per ESPN Dallas. “I really believe that. “I think he’s tremendous. He’s so talented. He’s got vision everywhere. He’s so quick. And I think (offensive coordinator Marty Morninwheg) is the only guy probably that can stop him because that guy is phenomenal. So if they don’t give it to him, that’s a good thing. But he’s super talented.”

But wait... Was that a shot at Morninwheg?

According to Ryan, absolutely not.

“They’re still getting 400 yards a game like they always do,” Ryan said. “The ball’s been bouncing crazy ways this season. This team is usually No. 1 in the red zone. They’re No. 1 in offense and so that’s the job Marty Morninwheg does and Andy Reid. And thos guys are fantastic. No disrespect, trust me. Nothing but respect.”
