Rex on Rob Ryan, Jason Garrett: “It's Going To Work”

New York Jets’ head coach likely wants the Jason Garrett-Rob Ryan to get off to an inauspicious start on Sunday night, because, well, he’s the New York Jets’ head coach. But Ryan believes that the combination of his twin brother Rob and Garrett will ultimately work for Dallas.

This isn’t really a new question, of course. Whether the two will be able to coexist was brought up shortly after Ryan was hired by Dallas, and it’s not hard to see why. Garrett is reserved, both in speech and action, while Rob is much like his brother--demonstrative, loquacious and, in general, larger than life--with longer hair.

But both men have a strong will to win, and it’s because of this that Rex believes the pair will work just fine together.

"It's going to work," Rex said in a conference call on Wednesday, per ESPN Dallas. "Jason wants to win. I remember when he came to interview for the Ravens job I met him. He is an impressive guy, obviously had that job offered to him and the Falcons job offered to him, the two jobs I was going for."
