Rex Ryan: Rob Expects to Have No. 2 Defense in 2011

In his introduction to the Dallas media last week, new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan told reporters that he expects to run a “great defense” in 2011, one of the best in the league, in fact.

Rob’s identical twin brother Rex, the equally blustery head coach of the New York Jets, won’t disagree with this assertion, but believes that second-best is the best his brother can hope for--a tongue-in-cheek suggestion that his Jets will have the best defense in the league in 2011.

"Well, I think he expects to be second in the league in defense,'' Rex said, per ESPN Dallas.

More seriously, Rex, like most everyone else that has commented on the subject, believes his brother will do a great job as the head honcho of the defense in Dallas.

"His scheme is a little different than ours. He does a few things different,” Rex said. “But he's a great coach. There's no question about it. I'll be excited to see what he does with some of the talent that they have there. That's a very talented football team. I'll be excited about watching them.”
