Report: Former Cowboys DC Rob Ryan Fired by Saints

Ryan was in his third season with the New Orleans Saints

With the Saints dead last in total defense and scoring defense, and coming off an absolute drubbing at the hands of the Washington Redskins, they’ve decided to go ahead and make a change at defensive coordinator.

According to FOX Sports, Rob Ryan has been let go.

Considering that Ryan’s job was already less than secure going in, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise for anyone who saw highlights of the Redskins’ win over the Saints on Sunday--and there were a lot of highlights for Washington.

They posted 526 yards of offense, Kirk Cousins threw four touchdowns and had a perfect passer rating, and by the time it was all over it was 47-14, Redskins.

When Ryan was fired by the Cowboys, he wasn’t happy about it, famously vowing that he’d be out of work for five minutes before getting another job. That job was New Orleans.

No word yet on Ryan’s replacement.
