Report: Five DBs Trying Out At Valley Ranch

Dallas lost safety Barry Church for the season last Sunday

The Dallas Cowboys lost safety Barry Church for the season on Sunday when he suffered an Achilles tear, so it should come as no surprise that there are some free agent defensive backs headed to Valley Ranch this week for an audition in front of Jason Garrett and co.

Specifically, a source in contact with ESPN Dallas says there are five safeties--Antwaun Moulden, Tyrone Culver, Eric Frampton, Don Carey and Aaron Rouse--at Dallas Cowboys headquarters today trying out for the roster spot that will be vacated when Church is placed on injured reserve.

Moulden was drafted by Houston in 2008, and played for the Patriots in 2011, where he recorded two interceptions. He was among the New York Giants’ final cuts this year.

Culver spent the last four seasons with Miami, Frampton spent the last five with Minnesota, and Carey spent last season in Detroit. Rouse, meanwhile, is coming off a UFL season that saw him take home the MVP Award in the UFL Championship Game. Rouse last played in the NFL in 2009.
