Report: Eagles To Shelve Search for Personnel Chief Until After Draft

The Eagles are still looking for someone to lead their scouting department

The Philadelphia Eagles fully intend to find a new personnel chief this offseason, but their search will reportedly be tabled until after the 2016 NFL Draft.

The firing of Chip Kelly and his personnel guy, Ed Marynowitz, led to executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman getting much of the power he lost a year before back, and now the team wants to add a personnel guy to head up the scouting department and collaborate with him. They’ve even interviewed a couple of candidates, but Geoff Mosher of 97.5-FM The Fanatic in Philadelphia reports that the team has decided to put a pin in it for now.

“The Eagles, who have no scouting chief after firing coach Chip Kelly and top personnel executive Ed Marynowitz, are looking for a high-ranking senior executive to lead the scouting department and determine the fate of current scouts, per sources, but they opened their search at a time when NFL teams are knee deep in the pre-draft process and would be reluctant to allow a top personnel executive to leave,” Mosher writes, per the Eagles Scouting Nest.

Among those interviewed by the Eagles before they temporarily called off the search were former Steelers director of pro scouting Brandon Hunt and former Browns executive Morocco Brown.
