Report: Cowboys Still Pursuing DE Jason Jones

Jones had 4.5 sacks for the Detroit Lions last season

A day after they re-signed Jack Crawford, the Dallas Cowboys are still looking at their options where shoring up the defensive line is concerned.

According to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys have continued to pursue free agent defensive end Jason Jones, a veteran and former Titan, Seahawk and Lion.

Jones visited Valley Ranch last week but left town without a deal.

In 2015, Jones posted 4.5 sacks for the Lions to go along with 31 tackles and a forced fumble. He has a total of 9.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in the past two years.

It’s worth noting too that Jones has never had fewer than three sacks in a season, with the exception of 2008, his first in Detroit, when he was limited to just three games due to a knee injury.

Jones came into the league as a second round pick of the Titans in 2008.
