Report: Carter To Be Cleared For Practice October 23

This is Bruce Carter.

We’ll forgive you if you’ve forgotten who that is, because we haven’t really seen much of him since he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the NFL Draft back in April. Carter underwent knee surgery last December to repair a knee injury, suffered in a game between Carter’s North Carolina Tarheels and NC State.

Anyway, Carter is still recovering from that surgery, but we finally have an idea of when the linebacker will return to the field. In a post today, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News writes that, according to Carter himself, he will be cleared to practice exactly a month from today, on October 23.

As George points out, this is the date of the Cowboys’ game against the St. Louis Rams, meaning that Carter’s return wouldn’t come until the following Wednesday, the 26th.

Still, it’s good to know that we’ll see something out of the second rounder in the relatively near future.
