Two Kardashians, Two Champs ... Good for Miles



    Dallas Cowboys receiver Miles Austin 's celebrity began to grow visibly last season as he emerged as the team's de facto no. 1 receiver and an NFC Pro Bowler. He partied with Tony Romo and Chace Crawford in Sin City, won a recurring role on ESPN's SportsCenter and, earlier this off-season, was a favorite among the Playmates at the Playboy Mansion's pajama party--an enviable title for anyone, famous or not.

    But until now, Austin, unlike his quarterback Tony Romo, has remained greatly absent from the gossip pages. If a recent report in the National Enquirer, is true--a pretty big 'if', granted--that may soon change.

    According to the Enquirer's report, Austin has been romantically linked with reality star, and celebrity for the sake of celebrity, Kim Kardashian.

    Whether this is true or not, and to say nothing of our personal feelings toward Ms. Kardashian, we can see a reason for fans to pull for this potential union. Kardashian dated the Saints' Reggie Bush, on and off, for some time, including during New Orleans's Super Bowl run last season.

    Kim's sister (we forget which one) is married to Los Angeles Lakers' forward Lamar Odom. The Lakers, of course, are a win away from their second consecutive NBA Championship.

    That is: Two Kardashians, two championships, in less than a year.

    Now it would be absurd to imply that these women are responsible for the on-field success of their respective significant others, but no more absurd than implying that the presence of Jessica Simpson could hinder the chances of then-boyfriend Romo--and frankly, the results speak for themselves.

    So is there a chance Kardashian is the anti-Simpson?

    We'll say yes.
