Redskins' Punter Sav Rocca Fined For Facemask of Dwayne Harris

Rocca was flagged for 15-yards on the play

Washington Redskins punter Sav Rocca was fined $7,875 this week for his facemask of Cowboys’ punt returner Dwayne Harris in the teams’ meeting in Week 17, the Washington Post reports.

Rocca was called for a 15-yard penalty on the play, which saw Harris return his punt 39 yards before being dragged down, at least in part by his facemask. Had Rocca not made the play, Harris very well could have taken it in for the touchdown. With the penalty, Dallas scored three plays later, anyhow.

Unfortunately, the Cowboys’ defense couldn’t hold up with around five minutes left, following the score and they fell to Washington, ending their season, by a final of 28-18.
