Just a day ago, after All-Pro nose tackle Jay Ratliff missed his second consecutive practice with a sprained left ankle, it seemed almost certain that he would be held out of this Sunday’s division match-up with the Eagles in Philadelphia. But now, there’s some optimism where Ratliff’s status is concerned, as Ratliff suited up for Friday’s practice.
Head coach Jason Garrett told the media that the team is “certainly hopeful he will play,” and Ratliff’s chances are helped by the act that he is a seasoned veteran. As such, Garrett said that Ratliff’s playing time won’t be affected by the fact that he missed two practices in the middle of the week, so long as he’s good to go on Sunday.
“Different guys can handle not practicing different than other guys,” Garrett said, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “The more veteran players, obviously, they’re more able to play in the game without practicing. You’re making individual judgments as much as you can.”
