Rams “Leaning” Wentz with No. 1 Pick, But Goff Remains an Option

It certainly looks like the Rams will draft a quarterback with their newly acquired No. 1 pick

Having moved up to the No. 1 pick in the draft via a trade with the Titans on Thursday, the Los Angeles Rams are targeting North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz, according to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times—but Cal quarterback Jared Goff remains in the mix as well.

Farmer initially reported via Twitter that Wentz was the target of the Rams’ move up, before adding in a later tweet that Goff is “still heavily in the mix.

This marks a shake-up at the top of the draft, as it was widely assumed that if the Titans held onto that top pick, it would be spent on Ole Miss tackle Laremy Tunsil. Now it looks like a quarterback—probably Wentz, but maybe Goff—will be the top pick in the draft.

The Cowboys will pick three spots after the Rams, at No. 4.
