Prime Schooling Time

Looks like Deion Sanders just got into the school business.

The one-time star of the Cowboys, 49’ers, Falcons, Ravens, Redskins, Yankees, Braves, Reds, and baseball Giants — say, if a guy’s that good why does he play for so many teams? — recently won his application bid to the Texas State Board of Education and plans to open a charter school, Prime Prep, in time for the 2012-13 school year.

Hmm, 58 words. Not bad.

Anyway, Sanders received the go-ahead even after board members raised serious questions about his qualifications, according to an article at The Texas Tribune.

"I have no idea what the applicant plans to do in the classroom, how they plan to instruct the TEKS," one member was quoted in the article as saying. Another voiced apprehension about making the selection process a "the celebrity-of-the-month club."

Sanders, though, provided the calm to those qualms in a follow-up Tweet to the application approval.

"GOD IS GOOD! WE GOT IT WE GOT IT WE GOT IT! IM IN TEARS LORD I THANK U LORD I THANK U!”

Ah ha, Sanders received a little divine intervention. God does work in mysterious ways.
