Potential Target: Von Miller

In an ongoing thread of posts, we'll discuss potential free agent targets for the Dallas Cowboys coming off a 4-12 season, thanks in large part to several key injuries.

Target: Von Miller, LB/DE

2015 stats: 35 tackles, 11 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries in regular season

Miller, who has 2 1/2 sacks in the Broncos' two postseason games so far and will get a chance to add to that total in Super Bowl 50, has been a dominant force this year for the Broncos and now has 62 1/2 career sacks in five seasons. Do the math, and that's more than 12 sacks per year.

So basically, he's Greg Hardy without the huge headache and PR nightmare that comes with that guy. Miller has been an outside linebacker in the Broncos' 3-4 defense but could easily move down to the defensive end spot in the Cowboys' 4-3 scheme.

Most importantly in this whole equation is the fact Miller is a DFW native, having dominated his high school days back at DeSoto before heading off to Texas A&M. Could it mean a hometown discount? Maybe.
