Potential Target: Bruce Irvin

In an ongoing thread of posts, we'll discuss potential free agent targets for the Dallas Cowboys coming off a 4-12 season, thanks in large part to several key injuries.

Target: Bruce Irvin, LB

2015 stats: 38 tackles, 5 1/2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery in 15 regular-season games

The Cowboys have a solid linebacker corps, including Rolando McClain and of course highlighted by Sean Lee. The only problem is both of those guys have trouble staying on the field, and for different reasons. While Lee plays his heart out and prepares like no other, he just can't stay healthy. McClain has injury trouble, too, but some of that might just be because he has trouble staying in shape.

If the Cowboys decide to part ways with McClain this offseason, Irvin could be a really solid replacement coming out of Seattle and as a part of that great Seahawks defense. He's averaged six sacks over the past two years and could also help provide some of the much-needed pass rush from the linebacker position.
