Poll: Ware Is The 6th Best Player In NFL

Dallas' DeMarcus Ware came in 6th in the list of the Top 100 NFL players

All-Pro linebacker DeMarcus Ware is one of the very best players in the NFL, according to the players in the NFL.

More specifically, the recently released list of the Top 100 NFL Players--as voted on by the players--has Ware as the sixth best in the league. Jets’ cornerback Darrelle Revis was the only defensive player to rank higher than Ware, and he is at the no. 5 spot. Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers ranked first, beating out New Orleans QB Drew Brees (2), Lions’ receiver Calvin Johnson (3) and Patriots’ QB Tom Brady (4).

Ware, who ranked 12th in last year’s ranking, is coming off a 19.5 sack season, just three shy of Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record of 22.5. Teammate Marcus Spears said earlier this week that the Cowboys’ revamped secondary will only help Ware’s sack totals in 2012--a statement that, at least in theory, is hard to argue against.

"You're never satisfied until you're No. 1. So I'm still holding a grudge," Ware joked to the NFL Network this week, per ESPN Dallas.

The only other Cowboys to make the Top 100 list were QB Tony Romo (91) and tight end Jason Witten (75).
