Peyton, Eli Manning Exchange Cowboys Scouting Reports

Somewhat famously, pitchers and brothers Mike and Greg Maddux regularly exchanged scouting reports in an attempt to get an edge on opposing hitters’ tendencies, a practice that is not limited to baseball. The Indianapolis ColtsPeyton Manning said recently that he planned on speaking to younger brother Eli, who (of course) plays against Dallas twice a year as a member of the NFC East.

“I always talk to Eli about any team that he's played against,'' Manning told reporters in a conference call on Wednesday, per the Dallas Morning News.

The elder Manning said that he wasn’t surprised by what he’s seen and heard of the Dallas defense this season, and that he doesn’t necessarily expect to be surprised by what his baby brother has to say about the Cowboys.

“Basically when I talk to him, it just re-affirms what you think,” Manning said. “Dallas looks very fast to me on defense. Very athletic. You see lots of talent all over the field. That's why I think it's going to be such a challenge for our offense from an execution standpoint, from a scheme standpoint, from a matchup standpoint. They really present a lot of problems.”
