Chris Long isn't the best pass-rusher out there for the taking, but he's not far from it, and depending on whom you believe, he's either visiting the Cowboys or trying to set up a visit.

Either way, it seems the son of Hall of Famer Howie Long is interested in the Cowboys as his next destination.

The free agent is visiting Dallas, according to ESPN's news hound Adam Schefter, but David Moore of The Dallas Morning News tapped the brakes a bit and just said the two sides are talking about setting up a visit.

Either way, Long appears to be an option to upgrade the Cowboys' pass rush.

But would he be an upgrade? The 30-year-old is coming off a 3-sack season in which he played 12 games and had just one in six games the previous season.

In 2013, he had 8.5 sacks after putting up consecutive double-digit sack seasons in 2011 and 2012.

Long visited the Redskins on Tuesday and left without a deal in place. We'll know soon enough if Jerry Jones lets him leave Valley Ranch without a signature.
