Now a Married Man, Bennett “More Professional”

Fans of the Dallas Cowboys can expect a quieter, more reserved Martellus Bennett in 2011. Bennett recently told reporters that getting married this offseason has changed his perspective on public perception--and, in turn, has made him more professional.

"I don't only represent myself now," Bennett said, per the Dallas Morning News. "I represent my wife. I really didn't care what anybody said about me until she started to care...I am more professional with all the things I want to do right now."

Bennett, who posted 33 catches for 260 yards last season, has reportedly expressed an interest in an expanded role in the offense. 2011 is a contract year for the Texas A&M product, meaning that if he wishes to stay in Dallas, now is the time to answer his numerous critics--those who believe there’s a noticeable disconnect between Bennett’s physical ability and his onfield production.

"I've asked for a bigger role," Bennett said. "And I will continue to go out there and do my job."
