Memories of Texas Stadium

Texas Stadium comes down on April 11, and no doubt Cowboys fans will be waxing nostalgic.

We're sharing our memories of the stadium, and want you to do the same.

My favorite memory of Texas Stadium .... wow.  Great question. Let me go with three.

1.  Being at the Ring of Honor ceremony for Tom Landry November 7, 1993.  It was incredible.  I grew up as a Dallas Cowboys fan and any child who loved the Cowboys also revered Tom Landry.  The fedora hat next to his name was a classic touch.  Interviewing him was an honor.

2.  1977.  My dad was driving the family up from our house on Lockridge Loop on Ft. Hood.  We were going to pick up my great-grandmother from DFW airport.  We got to see Texas Stadium from 183.  I was six years old and got to see the greatest stadium in the world.

3.  1993.  I got to walk the aisle down to the playing field.  The Cowboys were Super Bowl champs and it was Jimmy Johnson's last year as head coach.  I got to report a few games that season because I was a sports reporter for a TV station in Austin.
