Newman Plays Supporting Role In Calvin Johnson's SI Cover

We’d imagine every athlete dreams of gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated, and Terence Newman is doing just that in this week’s issue. The bad news is, he’s shown getting beat by the Detroit Lions’ Calvin Johnson for a touchdown--a game-winning touchdown, actually, that would put a pin in the worst collapse in the history of the Dallas Cowboys.

A real posterization, you might say.

All told, Johnson had eight catches for 96 yards and the two touchdowns on Sunday. The image used by Sports Illustrated is pretty much the same as the one we used here--Johnson bringing the ball in, Newman helplessly swiping at it. But if you’d like to see the actual cover, and possibly relive that terrible collapse with some fancy block lettering, click here.
