Newman Impressed By Marshall's Circus Catch

The Dolphins' only touchdown on Thanksgiving Day came on a pass from Matt Moore to Brandon Marshall

Cornerback Terence Newman was left highly impressed by the Miami Dolphins’ lone touchdown on Thanksgiving Day, a pass from Matt Moore to Brandon Marshall. This is because, as Marshall was coming down with the ball, Newman was interfering with him.

The flag was thrown, and replays showed that Newman had what pro wrestlers might call a sleeper hold on Marshall as the veteran receiver came down with the pass in the end zone. But the blatant interference didn’t matter much--because Marshall caught it, to give the Dolphins a 16-10 third quarter lead.

"It was a play where he made a great play," Newman said afterward, per the Dallas Morning News. "It's easily said, he made a great play."

For Newman, the feat on Thursday wasn’t all that surprising given Marshall’s ability.

"He's amazing," Newman said. "He's a great football player. He's a guy that has great range. A lot of balls you can just throw up and you can't guard him."
