NFC East Watch: ‘Skins Fans Chant for McCoy

Colt McCoy's last start came in the overtime win over the Cowboys three weeks ago

The last time Colt McCoy started for the Washington Redskins was Week 6, when he led the team to a 20-17 upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, a game that saw McCoy go 25 for 30 passing for 299 yards. That also marked the last time the Redskins won a game.

The week after McCoy’s overtime heroics, Robert Griffin III returned to the lineup for the first time since Week 2, when he suffered a dislocated ankle. In the two weeks since, Griffin has struggled. He went 18 for 28 for 251 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the Week 7 loss to the Vikings.

On Sunday, coming off a bye week, Griffin and the Redskins were drubbed by the lowly Buccaneers, 27-7, at home. In the loss, Griffin went 23 of 32 passing for 207 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. He was sacked six times.

Things in Washington have gotten to the point that, during the loss, the FedEx Field faithful began a chant of “We want Colt.

No word as of yet if the Redskins intend on granting this wish next week when they head to San Francisco to take on the Redskins.
