NFC East Watch: Redskins, Jackson Agree to Deal

Former Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson is staying in the NFC East

The Washington Redskins made it official with free agent receiver DeSean Jackson late on Tuesday evening, signing the former Philadelphia Eagle to a three-year deal, per the Washington Post.

Although the Redskins weren’t initially named among the teams interested in Jackson when he was cut by Philly last week, they threw their hat into the ring pretty quickly. He arrived for his visit in Washington on Monday night and spent all day Tuesday visiting with the team at Redskins Park.

Jackson confirmed the news on Tuesday night when he tweeted: “ITS GOIN DOWN !! BURGUNDY & GOLD.”

Through six seasons in the NFL, all with the Eagles, Jackson has posted 356 catches for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns. 2013 was actually his best season to date, as he had career highs in all three major receiving categories (82 catches, 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns).
