NFC East Watch: Eagles, Dolphins Talking Byron Maxwell Trade

Maxwell started 14 games in his first season with the Eagles last year

The Philadelphia Eagles are apparently looking to part ways with cornerback Byron Maxwell, one of Chip Kelly’s free agent signings during that crazy spring of 2015, and the Miami Dolphins are interested.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapaport reports that the two sides are already discussing a deal, which would send Maxwell to Miami after just a season with the Eagles.

Around this time last year, a couple months after Chip Kelly was given complete control of the Eagles’ personnel decisions, the team signed Maxwell to a six-year, $63 million deal.

Now, that contract may be the biggest impediment to the a deal getting done.

Maxwell posted 64 tackles, a pair of interceptions and 10 passes defensed in 14 starts for the Eagles in 2015.
