Murray Likely Out For Season

Dallas Cowboys rooke DeMarco Murray is likely out for the rest of the season. Murray suffered a right ankle fracture during the first half of Sunday nights game against the Giants.

Murray was finishing an 8-yard run in the first quarter against the Giants on Sunday night when his ankle twisted awkwardly during a tackle. He remained face-down on the turf for several minutes, then was taken for X-rays within Cowboys Stadium.

Murray set the franchise single-game rushing record in his first extended action earlier this season. He came into the game with a team-best 872 yards rushing.

Perhaps the best evidence of his importance to the club was the way his teammates responded. Defensive stars DeMarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff, Bradie James and Terence Newman all walked across the field to check on Murray while trainers were checking on him.
