McNabb: "I Will Be Starting This Weekend"

Donovan McNabb is not yet 100 percent healthy, but that won’t stop him from making his Redskins debut against those hated Cowboys on Sunday night at FedEx Field.

McNabb missed the team’s final two preseason games while dealing with the lingering effects of a left ankle sprain, and only returned to practice on Monday. He said the injury, which he suffered around two and a half weeks ago during an exhibition against Baltimore, was not a high ankle sprain--a dreaded injury that requires a longer rehabilitation period than a traditional ankle sprain--but that it was close.

McNabb has been getting daily treatments on the ankle, and doesn’t expect to be limited in any substantial way against Dallas.

"Yes, I will be starting this weekend," McNabb told ESPN980 in Washington, Tuesday. "And I look forward to it. ...Is it 100 percent? No. But it's getting better.”
