Maurice Jones-Drew's Mock Draft Puts Ezekiel Elliott in Dallas

Elliott won a National Championship with the Ohio State Buckeyes as a freshman in 2014

Former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew recently put together his first mock draft for NFL.com, and he has Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott coming to the Dallas Cowboys at No. 4 overall.

When you see talent, you go and get it,” Jones-Drew wrote. “This draft is defensively loaded, but not many players are as explosive as Elliott. Dallas needs to get back to running the ball.”

Perhaps because the draft is loaded defensively, many experts have the Cowboys going with a top tier defensive end like Oregon’s DeForest Buckner or Ohio State’s Joey Bosa in the first round—and seemingly, most who have the Cowboys targeting a running back have them going after Derrick Henry of Alabama.

MJD didn’t have Henry coming off the board in the first, and he had Buckner and Bosa going 11th and 12th to the Bears and the Saints, respectively.
