Manziel Tells TMZ He Wants to Play for Cowboys

Former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel said he'd like to play for the Dallas Cowboys during a brief interview with TMZ Sports Friday night.

After being asked about former teammate Josh Gordon's reinstatement by the NFL, the reporter asked Manziel if he were also planning to return. Manziel responded that he "absolutely" was.

When asked which team he wanted to play for, Manziel replied, "Cowboys."

Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones has shown interest in the former Texas A&M quarterback since the team passed on him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Manziel was picked 22nd overall by the Cleveland Browns, who have since released him.

The free agent quarterback also faces a four-game suspension due to violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.
