Lee Gets A Cast, McBriar Gets A Brace

The Dallas Cowboys medical staff has had a busy couple of days.

On Thursday, Sean Lee was fitted for a cast to help in his recovery from a dislocated wrist, and today, punter Mat McBriar was fitted for a protective brace for his injured left foot.

In Lee’s case, the team would like to avoid surgery, as that would almost certainly mark the end of the linebacker’s season.

"Typically what happens is there are a lot of different iterations of that thing. What is comfortable? What feels good?" head coach Jason Garrett said, per ESPN Dallas. "And you kind of keep working through those kinds of things."

Unlike Lee, McBriar has practiced this week, but he’s split reps with Chris Jones, the recently signed punter who, for now anyway, is on the practice squad. Jones could be called up to the 53-man roster if McBriar is unable to play, but the Cowboys are hopeful that, with the brace, McBriar will be able to go.
