There was a slight delay in his arrival at Valley Ranch, but La’el Collins is there now and getting into the swing of things with his new Dallas Cowboys teammates.
Collins signed with the Cowboys a week ago, but due to a stipulation in the collective bargaining agreement, he was prohibited from taking part in the team’s rookie minicamp last weekend. So after signing with Dallas, he went home to Louisiana for the weekend and returned to North Texas on Monday.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett doesn’t think Collins’ absence from the minicamp is that big of a deal, ultimately.
“Everybody’s kind of in the same boat,” Garrett told the team’s official website. “It would have been nice to have him out there for that, but he’s getting integrated into our program real quickly and has done a good job the last couple of days.”
