Josh Brent Not Sure if He'll Play Thursday

Brent was eligible to return to action last week but was held out by the Cowboys

Two days out, Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent isn’t sure whether or not he’ll be active for the Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Eagles on Thursday afternoon.

Brent hasn’t played since the December 2012 single-car accident that claimed the life of Cowboys practice quad linebacker Jerry Brown and led to Brent facing intoxication manslaughter charges. He was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 10 years of probation.

Brent was actually eligible to return on Sunday against the Giants, but the team opted to  keep him inactive.

That could change this week with Jack Crawford dealing with a broken thumb, which could open up a spot in the defensive line rotation.

I have not received any indication on whether I will or won’t be playing [Thursday],” Brent said, per the Dallas Morning News. “Obviously it’s a quick turnaround. I just go out there and practice and be the best teammate I can be.”
