Joseph Randle “Looks Up” to Romo

The Cowboys' fifth rounder will join Tony Romo in the Dallas backfield in 2013

Jospeh Randle, the former Oklahoma State running back who was picked up by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of last week’s draft, sounds like he’s ready to get to work. Which is probably good, since Jerry Jones said this week that he plans on Randle seeing a starter-like number of snaps working alongside DeMarco Murray.

Randle is an adept ballcarrier, but he also takes pride in his blocking in pass protection, good news for Tony Romo.

Anybody can block,” Randle told 105.3-FM The Fan this week, via the Dallas Morning News. “It’s just whatever kind of effort you put into it. If you put your effort into blocking, you can block.

“If you can’t protect the quarterback, you won’t play. … If he feels comfortable back there then he’ll do his thing. I look up to [Tony Romo]. I respect what he brings to the table.”
