Jon Kitna: The Next Savior of the Dallas Cowboys?

On Monday, wide receiver Roy Williams caused some incredulous laughter around the Dallas-Fort Worth area when he declared that backup Jon Kitna, who will start in place of the injured Tony Romo for the next six to eight weeks, was “just as good” as Romo. Now, he’s taking his praise to yet another level.

Williams was still quite optimistic in speaking with reporters on Wednesday. He lauded Kitna for his ability to spread the ball around, his decision making skills and his ability to read a defense--and, according to Williams, his ability to act as a savior to a fledgling, 1-5 Dallas team.

"We are going to rally behind him and mess around and get some wins and be in the hunt of this thing," Williams said, per the Dallas Morning News. "He will be the next savior of this place."
