John Wall Is A Cowboys Fan

The Washington Wizards’ John Wall, the first overall selection in the 2010 NBA Draft, went to the first Redskins’ exhibition of the preseason last Friday in an attempt to further adapt to his new surroundings, and saw a 42-17 ‘Skins win over Buffalo--he even saw his friend Brandon Banks return a punt for a touchdown.

But all of this wasn’t enough to shift the 19-year-old’s allegiances when it comes to NFL football. Wall, according to today’s Washington Post, is a Dallas Cowboys fan, and he doesn’t plan on changing just because he now resides in the heart of Redskins territory. Well, he doesn’t plan on changing completely, anyway.

"I like the Cowboys, because of my mom. People aren't going to like me because of that," Wall said, laughing. “I got to stay with the Cowboys because I can't switch teams, but I'm going to support D.C. no matter what. I'm in between. I'll be cheering for both of them, but I won't let anybody know."

Well, telling his plan to one of the largest newspapers in the country may have not been the greatest attempt at keeping his plan under wraps, but point taken. Before everyone in Cleveland hated LeBron James for jumping ship to go to Miami, a much smaller contingent in the city were angered by his decision to wear a Yankees hat to an Indians-Yankees playoff game. He also buddied up with some Dallas Cowboys before a game against the Browns but, as it was the Browns, no one seemed to notice.
