Jerry Still Plans On Meeting With Bryant

Last Thursday, Cowboys’ owner and general manager Jerry Jones told reporters that he had spoken to Dez Bryant briefly over the phone and planned to meet with the young receiver on Friday. Jones wanted to discuss a number of things with Bryant, including his rehab from an ankle fracture and an offseason marked by controversy.

But in the short window in which players were at Valley Ranch that day--between Judge Susan Richard Nelson's ruling going into effect that morning and the lockout going back into full effect that afternoon--the two were unable to sit down as planned.

Jones recently took responsibility for the missed connection, but said that he still has plans to meet with Bryant here in the near future.

"I couldn't get it worked to where I could give him a sure time as busy as we've been here,'' Jones said, per the Dallas Morning News. "But I'll get to him.''
