Jerry Jones & Co. Will Watch Goff Work Out in Berkeley This Weekend

Jared Goff is among the quarterbacks expected to come off the board in the first round

There’s still a chance Jared Goff could be the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, if you believe the reports in the wake of the Rams’ move up, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones intends to be ready if the Cal quarterback slides to them at No. 4 overall.

Jones will visit Berkeley, CA to take in a second private workout of the offseason with Goff, who was mentioned as being “in the mix” as a top pick candidate Thursday after the Rams and Titans swapped first round picks, but not as likely as North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz.

Jones joked that the real motivation for the trip was enjoying the Berkeley weather.

"[Goff] operates in a pretty place," Jones said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. "I like to have that excuse to go out there. No, seriously, we are going to go do a workout this weekend. It'll be Goff, out there before their spring game."
