Jerry Hints Allen Could Be Next

In case you were wondering who would be the next former Cowboys to be inducted into the famed Ring of Honor, Jerry Jones all but let us know on Thursday night.

In the pregame show on CBS 11, Jerry Jones was interviewed by Bill Jones and Babe Laufenburg and amid speculation of who the next might be, Bill Jones told Jerry to just "talk to him" and let him know who it would be, in a joking manner — probably not expecting an answer.

Instead, Jerry, audacious as always, all but answered it.

He said something about "OK, we're talking now" and then said Larry Allen is a name to be on the lookout for.

Allen was an absolute beast and a stalwart of the dominant Cowboys offensive lines of the early-mid 1990s in the glory days.

He played guard and tackle, and he did it all — a consumate professional.

The play I'll always remember Allen for was when he chased down a defensive back after a turnover, running at a perfect angle across the field, and caught him just before he got in the end zone before the defense kept the opponent out of the end zone.

He was a mountain of a man, and if you believe Jerry, he'll be a mountainous figure in Cowboys history soon enough.
