Jerry Happy With “Very Successful” Offseason

The Cowboys preseason came to an end with a 24-6 exhibition loss to the Texans on Thursday

The Dallas Cowboys preseason came to an ugly end on Thursday night with a 24-6 loss to the Houston Texans, but owner and general manager Jerry Jones is thrilled with what his team has accomplished between Week 17 of last season, and now.

“Jason Garrett, he gets a lot of credit for having put a lot of that together and managing that,” Jones said of the offseason, per the Dallas Morning News. “We’ve had a very successful off-season.”

Jones reportedly addressed the team following the loss, a speech that was specifically geared toward those players who aren’t likely to make the cut when rosters are trimmed to 53.

“I just said my little something to the team, principally to the ones that won’t be on the (53-man) roster,” Jones said. “I told them how much I personally appreciated their hard work, no matter if they were here a week or no matter if they have been here through the entire off-season, we got a lot of work, and we did.”
